New data from the ONS Business Survey shows that around 27% of the workforce have been furloughed.

In businesses still trading, the furlough rate is around 22%.

In businesses that have paused or ceased trading, it's 82%.
The percentage of the workforce being furloughed varies by industry.

The furlough rate for accommodation and food businesses still trading is over twice as high as the rate across all industries still trading.
Something else that varies drastically by industry is who can work from home.

Based on businesses still trading, 85% of the workforce in the information and communication sector are working remotes. This drops to 20% in the accommodation and food industry.
24% of all businesses have ceased or paused trading.

This jumps to 81% in the accommodation and food industry and 82% in the arts and entertainment sector.
Over a quarter (27%) of people say their household finances have been affected by coronavirus.

When asked how, 75% said they'd had a reduction in income. 27% are using savings to cover costs. 18% are borrowing to cover costs.
