It occurs to me that approximately 0.005% of my followers know about Carman.

Early Carman(?)
Here is a music video he made with the SEMINAL DC TALK
I owned the album eponymous album containing this song
Holy SHIT I have no recollection of this song but it is very close to apex Carman. Every moment is scintillating
The Champion is Carman’s most sincere, earnest song and well into at least the late 90s you could see youth groups from a very specific kind of Pentecostal church performing dramatic dance-like dramas (“Human Videos) to it on the church stage. Example:
Finally, I’m so happy there’s a live version of this on YouTube. “Satan, Bite The Dust” is the song I would pick that best epitomizes Carman. You’re welcome, America
CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) was a weird and wild place in the 90s. One youth group I volunteered at in like 2001 had an “if you like (actually good band) you’ll probably like (knockoff version)” giant chart on the wall.
But even in that milieu but I can’t think of anybody else so kitschy and literally theatrical (you might even say... flamboyant) as Carman.
This concludes our excursion into Jaylon’s weird childhood, thank you.

There used to be two giant message boards, one on a cult debunking website and one under a completely random blog post about one of his songs from the 80s, devoted to wild claims about Carman’s love life. They’ve both been scrubbed but: the man fucks https://www.idolator.com/381486/welcome-to-the-very-weird-world-of-carman
