There have been lots of conversations around #FoodSystems in #Africa and the world at large now, especially because we are currently experiencing a pandemic.

When we talk about food systems, what do we mean? Let's simplify this in simpler words. #Covid19FoodFuture
The food system is a range of activities involving food production (crop & animal production) and food consumption (processing, transport, market & wastage) #Covid19FoodFuture
There are some issues that concerns food production and they directly or indirectly affect food production - climate smart ag, favorable policies, governance, wastage, economics, impact of food on individual and population health. #Covid19FoodFuture
There are also some issues that concerns food consumption- sustainability, socio economic factors, demand & supply, infrastructure, government policies etc.

Recently, it has become clear that a more holistic framework is needed to address these complex issues.
Therefore, food systems and its various components need to be analysed and assess the impact and feedback of the systems different actors, activities and outcomes to help identify intervention points for enhancing food security.

There is no better time than NOW to do this.
