I home educated daughter by choice, from age 11, after researching it. Here are two things that might make you feel better if you have to try:

1. It’s not you. You’re not failing. Children need TWO YEARS to “deschool” before settling;

Think your kids are just messing around and enjoying themselves? You are doing it right. If they appear to be doing nothing for long periods, that’s also good and very important. If they play video games for long periods, it’s fine. They’ll stop. Or go on to design them later.

Many home ed children open businesses. Many go to uni and find it easy, because they’ve been researchers since they were young. You may have a small lawyer at home. As soon as they’re old enough, take them into court to see what happens. Do science at home. YouTube! Wikipedia!
