Lenin & the Bolsheviks did things in a situation where their space to manoeuvre was limited, & most of the counterfactuals are flaky wishful thinking - there’s plausible criticisms & even stronger arguments that the difference of situations means there’s not so much to learn.

But, Lenin really mattered to many of his bravest, cleverest contemporaries (& those who came after), the “how very dare you?” is an insult to them.
