The UK government message should be unambiguous: "We don’t have enough PPE for NHS b/c we made mistakes. But pls make your own masks & protect yourself"

But its neither admitting its mistakes nor advising people to wear masks. That should alarm all of us https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/ppe-shortage_uk_5ea00ea2c5b69150246af94e?hi">https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/ppe...
My wider worry is that this controversy increasingly looks like the UK government is trying to cover up its failings, and then trying to get scientists to back them up.

At a time like this the government needs to be more honest, not spin harder. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤦🏽‍♂️" title="Man facepalming (medium skin tone)" aria-label="Emoji: Man facepalming (medium skin tone)">
