I& #39;ve just had an email convo with a couple of mates as regards working from home (I& #39;ve been doing it for about 20 years). I thought I& #39;d post up what works for me in case it& #39;s of use to anybody. Feel free to add your own techniques.
The best advice I think I can give is find what works for you:
-Get up, shower/wash, get dressed, try and do some exercise (I’ve failed at two of these things this morning).
-Lock off actual working time and try and stick to it.

-Let the other people in the house know when that is in a bid to minimise distractions (but you have to be flexible).
-Manage your social media (I use it as a reward for when I’ve completed a task) and do something else if it’s getting you down.

-Regular breaks that get you away from the screen, but again plan them so you don’t take the piss.
-Get out of the house, even if it’s just the garden, at least once a day.

-Give yourself something to look forward to, a carrot approach for ‘doing the thing’ (this can be food, drink, a chapter of a book, TV show, an old film).
-And here’s the really difficult thing, you have to find a way not to beat yourself up if you don’t manage the above (particularly at the moment), but at the same time you still have to find a way to move back towards & #39;doing the thing’.
