(THREAD) I loved this movie as a kid, and having recently watched it with my niece, I'm not embarrassed to say that I don't get the hate. The respectfully childish, yet witty aura of George Carlin's Mr. Conductor from the show is present with Alec Baldwin's interpretation, https://twitter.com/Beavs/status/1253166176458305537
the voice acting's pretty good (with the exception of the bored-sounding Lady), Peter Fonda really gives the target audience their (parents') money's worth, and the music's nice if a little cringey, and the comedy's pretty good considering, again, the target demographic (Baldwin,
Diesel 10, his minions, and the cousin character are all hilarious). Overall, "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" is, in my opinion, a fine enough adaptation and a good kids' movie, especially considering American cinema was still kind of in a dark period in the year 2000.
Not to mention, this film is solely responsible for why I find city lights reflected against the street on a rainy day relaxing. Still one of my favorite things to visualize to this day. Review over.
