As rainfall precedes the arrival of Ramadan, it triggers within some of us mixed feelings and emotions.
Rain does have a special way of bringing back old memories, reminiscing old friends and family members who have recently or long ago left us.

The smell of rain that we picked up while walking with the ones we love.
And the pitter-patter on the background while we were engrossed in our conversations with them.
These are the subtle triggers of our memories.

We know and believe that rain is a symbol of God& #39;s ungrudging and unselfish love pouring onto us.
But we can& #39;t help think about all that He has taken away from us.
Especially the people whom we used to hold dear in our arms, and still do in our hearts.
But we can& #39;t help think about all that He has taken away from us.
Especially the people whom we used to hold dear in our arms, and still do in our hearts.
Maybe, just maybe, this is His way of reminding us of what true love really means.
A reminder to always be a blessing in another& #39;s life, to the point that they& #39;ll forever remember you and how you made them feel - long after you& #39;ve made your departure.

And for those still grieving, it& #39;s probably useful to be reminded that people leave us because they are not joined to us.
And as long as they& #39;re not joined to us, no matter what we do, we can never make them stay.
If their time has come, they will leave.

If their time has come, they will leave.
And when they do leave us, either suddenly or otherwise, realise that nothing in life "just" happens. Every blessing that we have ever enjoyed comes and goes for a reason.
With approximately an hour away, some of us will be experiencing our first Ramadan differently than before.

It will be w/o the ppl whom we& #39;ve shared it with in the years before. It& #39;s going to feel strange, awkward, out of place, & mostly empty.
But let’s remember those precious moments that we treasure, & make a little prayer for the ones whose names & faces appear in our mind& #39;s eye.

And most of all, be thankful to God for the days when you had them, & trust Him for the reasons He took them away.
The rain has not yet ceased from falling. Our houses will never be the same again. They may be empty, but we pray that our hearts always remain full- with His love.
