More incredible stories of hope this week!🤩

Just as we went into lockdown, we took a referral for a teenage boy. Life has not been easy for him and he has very few positive role models, but he's making some positive decisions for a different future for himself.

When he was told about Safe Families he thought the whole thing was a bit weird and wanted to know why someone would want to be kind to someone else's kid.

We introduced him to a male volunteer over the phone who has recently retired from the police force.
The volunteer has a carpet cleaning business specifically to help people with few prospects into work.

We agreed that he would make one call then meet up with the boy after lockdown. After all, speaking to a stranger when you're a teenager is awkward - let alone on the phone!
The first call lasted 30 minutes. In fact, the volunteer's wife thought he was chatting to a friend the conversation was so easy. 3 days later the boy rang out of the blue for another chat.

We're excited to see where this story goes! đź’™
