here is my tip for original writing, which has helped me immensely: you can just write in the same experimental ways you write with fanfic. you can just go balls to the wall off thr shits with your writing, see what you like and then keep tinkering and submitting. (1/ ? )
what you write will never always be to everyone’s taste, but that is true for conventionally written stories too, and also fanfic. just go nuts and keep trying. it’s fine. you don’t have to write 50k words in past tense third person unless you want to, especially while — (2/?)
figuring your craft out. fanfic offers you a pre-established set of characters and rules which eliminates half your work? bro you can just do that in your own short stories and fiction. you don’t need introductory monologues, all you need is nuanced dialogue and knowing (3/?)
where and when to drop the info YOU want people to know about your characters. i wrote a short story this year where i didn’t even give my pov character a name; it’s fine! you can literally just do what you want, especially on your own time. (end)
