The Timbuktu Syllabus (Pt 4)

"The richest man who ever lived" King Musa. Leader of the great Mali Empire. Today, it lies plagued by poverty.

And the country which was once the world's largest Gold Exporter, to be mining its last gold in 2033.

"How White people Became Rich"
Contrary to the first tweet, this thread is an extension to a series of threads focusing on how black people became disempowered through 5 defeats

This is a focus on the Economic Defeat.

In 1324, on his holy pilgrimage to Mecca, Africa's very first Skhotane king, King Musa...

took with him 72,000 pounds of gold (R28 Billion today) to give to the poor...

he gave away so much that it caused a 10 year recession in Egypt, Mecca and Medina. He had to take back some.
Mansa Musa's wealth left the world in awe...

Europe was now in hunger for Africa.

For the next two centuries Italian, German, and Spanish cartographers produced maps of the world which showed Mali and which often referenced Mansa Musa.
But the final strike that ignited the "Scramble of Africa" was the discovery of Gold in 1886...

"A seam of gold lying on the surface, so much, it looked like a White River flowing. Witwatersrand" - Ray Heron, SA Military Historian.
the period of the classical gold standard from 1821 to 1914 meant that a country's monetary system depended on the amount of gold in its reserves...

In simple terms. In order to pump R1 million into the economy, the country had to have gold worth that value in its reserves.
British Merchant seekers rushed in floods to the shores of South Africa.

Those that owned the big gold mines, had to exploit labour, in order to sell at the set price.

See European countries didn't have gold mines, so they set the price of sale very low, in order to buy cheap.
Stolen gold worth R4 trillion sits in the Bank of England's Gold vaults.

While SA will be bidding farewell to its gold mines. Exporting only 6% of today's global output.
In the process of looting SA, our grandfathers had to suffer exploited cheap labour, living in barracks fit for animals...

Extracting gold on their native land under hard conditions, then shipped to foreign lands building foreign wealth.
Today, what is not considered is that, all that wealth exploited from us, built mega companies in these countries...

Companies black folks worship.

TAG Heuer (1860)

Chanel (1910)

Rolex (1905)

Tiffany&Co (1837)

And the biggest promoters of this stolen wealth worldwide?

N*ggas
And when we, 13 years later, dig our last gold in SA, as confirmed by the Minerals Council...

N*ggas will still be wearing LVMH gold chains, shouting "support 90% local!"

Our grandfathers sacrificed family and freedom digging British gold. They deserve better honour.
We need to Support Black, Buy Black and Empower each other in their honour.

For, as it stands, everything they sacrificed we have discarded by supporting those very companies that made them suffer.

If we do not succeed, then all their sacrifices is but futile.
