Not Covid-19 related death but this is still a new experience to me. Funeral homes are not allowed to come in and collect the body so We did post Mortem (our job ofc) and we were the ones who transfered the body out of the bldg. From transferring to stretcher to actually...
Putting the body in the bodybag. Family weren& #39;t able to visit, not as per policy but family& #39;s choice. It& #39;s kind of sad in a way & #39;cuz this pandemic is shifting everything into a different route. Thought I& #39;d share this. Frontliners are pushing through adversities everyday...
Even before pandemic, nurses are one of the most underappreciated healthcare workers out there. My first year working in this field was really hard, being just 19/20 yrs old at that time. I got spat at believe it or not, but it was a patient with mental illness so it& #39;s okay.
pt& #39;s family members are the one& #39;s that really challenge you the most in this field. chances are 9/10 they would test your knowledge and would think they know better. But yea, we signed up for this. You can slap that in our face. Now a lot of staff are pulling out themselves
in the schedule just because they choose the staff assistance package instead of actually helping patients/residents. Choosing their own family& #39;s safety instead of serving other ppl. I would do the same too if I were them, ofcourse.
But yea, it doesn& #39;t end here. Everything will be back to normal and hopefully healthcare providers will get the equal respect we deserve as professionals after all this. HAHAHA This thread is nonsense but I actually never thought of being a nurse and here I am being a HERO. lol
