I studied in Amritha Vidyalayam for two years. We were asked to wish using 'Om Namah: Shivaya'. It caused a huge ruckus when Christian parents complained saying that their kids were being 'forced' to say something they didn't approve of. https://twitter.com/sumamk08/status/1253191971742666753
Then we changed houses and I started going to a school run by Christians. There, everyone were asked to pray to Christ and go to church. What I noticed was that none of us had any issues with any of this. We would gladly learn their prayers, and take part in their celebrations.
This is exactly how the big picture in the society works. We are open to everything but the minute they're asked to reciprocate, they cry about being victims - no matter how harmless what they were doing was.
Hindu schools were expected to be secular spaces, but the minute you expect the same of Christian institutions, you hear things like 'nobody is forcing you to join Christian institutions'. If you want only Christians to study in your institutions, don't admit the others.
And BTW, no one is doing us any favors by letting us in Christian institutions. Most often, we even pay higher fees because the minorities get a consession even in institutions run by said minorities.
The education space is controlled by missionaries and every govt that has come and gone have allowed this to go on. What do you get out of it? Guilt ridden Hindus who are ashamed of their Hindu roots.

That was always Macaulay's aim.
And this is the reflection of what is happening in the larger society as well. We welcomed every other cultural integration and diluted our own to make them feel comfortable. From Hindustan, we became the more secular India.
Having to say amen is secular but having to say Jai Shri Ram is not. We keep being pushed to the edge and we keep complying.

I don't endorse what's happening in the video, but I fully understand where they come from.
The whole revival of the Hindu identity has happened because of growing apprehensions about the brotherhood that they preached about. You're brothers IF you follow them and support them even if they ridicule your roots and culture.
No matter how many Christian prayers you say, churches you go to, the minute you dare to say you're a Hindu, you are blamed for not being secular enough.

What they don't understand is that it is we have survived, inspite of this forced secularism.
Hindu culture is one of the only that has managed to survive this Abrahamic invasion and also managed to revive itself, albeit fiercely, in the past few years. There is mistrust, suspicion and hostility towards the other. True.

We learnt this from you.
