a thread of betty and archie being there for each other/protecting each other <3

1.) betty took it upon herself to tutor archie everyday in the second grade so he could pass and they’d remain in the same grade.

“when i passed, thanks to betty, i kisses her and asked her to marry me.”

2.) betty was always very supportive of archies music and encouraged him to not give up on it.

“you have zero excuse for avoiding music.”

3.) betty warned archie about ms grundy and discovered the truth about her to protect archie.

“i’m not in any danger.”

“you don’t know that.”

4.) betty stood up for archie and their friendship when alice was blaming him for the grundy situation and trying to force him and betty apart.

“i’m never gonna stop being friends with archie. ever.”

5.) archie was the first person to stand up for betty while chuck was saying horrible things about her at the party.

“leave her the hell alone, chuck.”

“i want to slam whoever did that through a wall.”

7.) whenever fred was shot, archie called betty and she immediately showed up to the hospital.

8.) betty told archie about the calls she was getting from the black hood and he decided he was gonna help her take him down.

“i’m not letting you go through this alone.”

9.) archie did what betty asked him to do even if it meant lying and hurting other people’s feelings to keep her and jughead safe.

“please, arch, don’t quit on me now.”

10.) archie continuously checked up on betty/made sure she was okay during the black hood situation.

“did he call you again? the black hood?”

11.) archie was willing to be buried alive in order to save bettys life/protect her from the black hood.

“get in the coffin, or i shoot her in the head.”

12.) betty spent her entire summer trying to prove archies innocence.

“this summer, i have not stopped or slept a wink working on archies case.”

13.) betty helped archie and fred with the car/archie asked betty to look after his dad while he was away in jail

“betty, promise me. please.”

14.) betty helped archie escape from jail/was the one who actually got him out.

“what took you so long?”

“i could ask you the same thing!”

15.) after archie returned to town betty helped him get back to his “normal self.”

“there he is.”

16.) when archie returned to town betty offered to tutor him for the SATs so he could pass.

17.) betty helped identify fred when archie couldn’t do it.

“it’s your dad.”

18.) archie agreed to help betty fake jugheads death.

19.) archie agreed to fake date betty in order to make jugheads death more believable.
