It should be hard for you to lift your hand against another person, especially if that person is your child. If you beat your child because they brought home bad grades, or they did sth wrong, you need to check yourself. Doesn't matter if you went through it and are 'fine'.

Don't be beating people up simply bc they don't perform in ways you expect. Imagine if we all did that. If your boss slaps you because you hand in work after the deadline. Or your spouse beats everytime the sex no jorm. Or landlord beats you when you don't pay rent on time.

Beating children results in them behaving like you want only when you're around. It's more about you, than them. True, children are woefully myopic & they can't see beyond themselves at times, but there's far better forms of discipline than these WWE methods we are used to.
