I hate seeing white women talking about how they want zendaya to play Tiana. Like girl just shhhhh
Sometimes it's black women too which really disappoints me
Colourism is a thing I feel so strongly About. I also hate when light skin women refuse to acknowledge they have a certain amount of privilege
Like perfect example is yara Shahidi. I lover her I do but her ignorance regarding colourism truly saddens me. She seems like a such an articulate young woman and she refuses to acknowledge the fact that she is indeed light skin and that grownishs only portrayal of black women is
Light skin women. You're disregarding a whole community of dark skin black women. They only casted Ryan after the backlash and I'm still sick of it. This lack of representation for dark skin women does awful things for our self esteem
Like even back when I was 4 I would complain to my mum about how I wanted to be lighter and "caramel" because that's what the idea of beauty is and we as black people need to work better on dismantling this system that prefers lighter bodies to dark ones
