A propos of nothing, a story: One of my first jobs after college was watering plants in various hotels and residences along the Mag Mile. One of my accounts was the Four Seasons hotel. Very nice hotel. Celebrities stayed there while filming projects.
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman stayed there while she was filming something. No one - not housekeeping nor plant care - was allowed in their room. I guess their plants died. Martin Short stayed there while performing in The Goodbye Girl on stage.
Martin Short had beautiful pictures of his family-without him in any of them - all over his suite.
Harrison Ford stayed there when he was filming The Fugitive. He said, “Good Morning” to me in the elevator once. He still had his beard for The Fugitive at this point. I was star struck. And I had to water the plants in his room.
He did not have pictures of his family. He had A LOT of prescription drugs. He had full garbage cans because I got there before housekeeping. So I stole his garbage.
In his garbage were his dry cleaning receipt (H. Ford), call sheets for The Fugitive, and some autographed publicity photos he discarded for some reason.
Some 20 years later, I sold all Harrison Ford’s garbage on eBay.
Aaaand scene.
I also saw Courteney Cox coming out of the elevator-she was dating Michael Keaton at the time, and he was Nicole’s co-star. This was long before “Friends” but she was famous for the “Dancing in the Dark” video
