This is how the fake media operates. Trump's immigration EO is very strong. It accomplishes a lot. So of course, the fake media downplays it and pushes a narrative that it's meaningless and has "so many loopholes". The EO deals with IMMIGRANT visas not NON-immigrant visas
So the fake media conflates the two and since it doesn't deal with non-immigrant visas they include that into the "discussion" to make the EO appear weak. Then they also include immigrants already here and how Trump isn't kicking them out. The EO was never meant to do that.
It would be a legal nightmare to revoke immigrant visas already issued and force greencard holders to leave/not be allowed in. This was one of the problems with the original "travel ban" that had to be re-written to allow current greencard holders into the country that were
...currently outside of it. Another issue that caused problems with the original "travel ban" was the denial of visas to Afgan/Iraq personal that helped the US military and as a reward were granted immigrant status (SI/SQ visas which are about 50/year.)
Yes, all that screaming back during the first "Travel Ban" by the neocons and Mathis was over 50 freaking visas per year but boy did the fake media cause that little issue to become a giant talking point.
Another issue that was "hotly" "debated" during the first travel ban was "chain migration" the bringing in of family members of greencard holders and US citizens. This was brought to court and ruled on in Federal Court. Trump can't stop migrant spouses and children of US citizens
But of course the fake media doesn't explain any of this. The first travel ban and the rewrites that finally went all the way to the SCOTUS set the boundaries of what could and couldn't be in this EO. This EO has basically already been ruled on by the SCOTUS as constitutional.
Why would Trump ignore that court case and re-write the entire EO without that case in mind and open his EO to another round of court cases and legal delays when he already has a clear legal/SCOTUS approved framework to write the EO? But the fake media and "concerned"
...immigration hawks don't explain any of that. Nope, they just say it's "meaningless" or has a bunch of loopholes. The immigration EO isn't meaningless and it doesn't have a bunch of loopholes. It was written and signed to deal with immigrants not non-immigrants(H1,H2 visas)
Knowing that take another look at the EO. The only loopholes it has in it is for EB-5(10,000 visas per year only 700 per country issued), The SI and SV visas that cover about 50 visas per year, immigrant spouses and under-aged children of US citizens,
immigrants that are in healthcare that can help with COVID-19 care and/or research, immigrants, their spouses, and children who are a member of the Armed services. It also gives a loophole for people deemed important to the DOJ law enforcement effort and/or national security.
In all, it will suspend entry of all other immigrants that would normally have zero problem coming here.

Finally, the fake media wants to conflate greencards with immigrant entry. They aren't the same. Many of the yearly greencards given every year are to non-immigrants
already in the country on other types of Visas like H1-B. There is nothing in the EO that suggests that process will remain the same. The non-immigrant visas are temporary and while it has been SOP to allow the non-immigrant visa holders to adjust their status when their temp
...visa runs out there is no reason to believe that SOP will continue with 22 million American Citizens unemployed. There is also nothing in the EO to suggest it won't continue. In other words, that's a totally different issue that this EO doesn't deal with and wasn't intended to
...deal with but the fake media and others gleefully conflated the two to downplay this EO as just an "election stunt". 65% of those issued greencards in 2018 came from overseas. Except for those few exemptions listed this EO bars entry to that population. The 45% that get
...their immigrant status changed that are already here is not included in the EO because court cases have already been fought over this. Trump can simply deny that status change when their temporary visas run out. He can limit the issuing of new temporary visas also if needed.
the EO also has a 30 day clause in it to study the "facts on the ground" and see if additional steps are needed. In other words, since there will still be an unemployment problem next month, I would think those temporary visas won't be renewed but they could be.
This is why I hate the fake media. They take something that is very good and will have an impact on immigration going forward and the longer the EO is in force the bigger the impact it will have and have everyone believing it's nothing....
