Not going to comment on Rohingyas but refugees in general.

The rules in our country MUST change. Refugees are here because they fled the situation their own country is in. Bukan saja suka-suka. They are NOT ALLOWED TO WORK in Malaysia. How then are they expected to live?
Not allowed to work. Not allowed to rent a home. Not allowed to drive (even with valid international licence).

And when they start begging, we get mad coz it makes our country look bad 🙄
I have personally seen my refugee friends get stopped, questioned, body searched and $ taken from them just because. One time the cop took RM2 from a refugee friend because that's all he had on him. DUA RINGGIT BRO!
The only times no one takes money from them is when they get stopped and I am there. Because I talk too much and they know I will make a huge fuss over it.
Not too long ago, I decided to rent an 3BR apartment for a Msian friend who needed a place to live and out 2 of my most trusted refugee friends there to live with him.

After seeing the place with the agent, agreeing to the price etc, we went to the mgmt office to sign the deal.
I got into a huge argument with the manager after she said "Refugees are NOT ALLOWED to step foot into this land".

Not just not allowed to enter ok. They cannot even come near to the guard booth. Cannot step onto the parking land. Nothing.
Despite the guarantee of me paying the rent for the year, she flat out refused and told me to get lost and take my disgusting refugee friends with me. Her words, not mine. Even the agent was stunned.
After over an hour of arguing, I gave up trying to reason with her. I said "you better pray we Malaysians never end up as refugees some day coz u may need a place to live then and someone will do the same to u".

She said "Malaysians will never be refugees. We're not that stupid"
I was so ashamed that day to even look my refugee friends in the face. But God is great. That same evening I found a much better apartment at an even better price with an amazing landlord who now refuses to take rent until September. Alhamdulillah.
I am very grateful for my refugee friends who have taught and done so much for me the last few years. The least I can do for them is cover their rent and groceries. And they've since introduced me to SO MANY other refugees who are in desperate need for help.
Just last week I used money donated to me to buy groceries for 2 weeks for a few refugee families who are in desperate need. Once they got the groceries, they split everything into half so they could help others instead.
I was shocked and told them to keep everything and I'll get more groceries for the ones they're trying to help but they refused. They said "what u gave us is our rizq, and in it is the rizq of others".
I am still fundraising because my list of people who need help is getting longer. And the ones working the hardest to help me help others are my refugee friends who are struggling themselves.
Its 2020 and no one should go hungry or be in this situation. We are beyond blessed to be in a safe country with an abundance of food at our disposal. Who joins us in this country is written by God. After all, this land belongs to Him, not any one of us.
Yes there are bad apples among them but did we forget that we're also the same? If u choose to focus only on the bad, you'll only surround yourself with negativity. Religion teaches u to sangka baik and let God deal with those with bad intentions instead.
