What is a "Schedule 5 Tribal Area"? We need to really educate ourselves about Tribal Land Laws in #IdeaOfIndia framework - otherwise the chaos wont make sense. I am hearing #Palghar is a Sch-5 area (not confirmed)
A Schedule-5 or a Fifth-Schedule area is a designated Tribal majority area which has special governance and land rights. Many call it "a constitution within a constitution"
At the heart of it is a completely bogus and inapplicable terminology of "indigenous people" -- they just took US/Can/LatinAm/Aus/NZ types of Aborigines vs recent rulers and applied to India where almost all can trace 3000 yrs ..
Trying to simplify ; a 5th Sched area the land ownership pattern are permanently frozen by Constitution. A Tribal land owner does not have the same free rights as you and I. He can ONLY sell to another Tribal (from the same area I think).
This is kind of odd - isnt it? Yes - everything is "odd" in #IOI laws. They are all oriented towards a strategic purpose.
There is a lot of verbiage and paternalistic BS - tribals are oppressed, most vulnerable, displaced easily, hence state needs to protect their land. Some valid points but most invalid and tequia-ish
There is always a strategic element if you see through the smoke and mirrors.

* If Tribal area is frozen - but if Tribals can convert religions - then all a strategic power has to do is Flip the tribals and the land is yours. Is it criminal/communal to raise this question?
The most obvious anomaly :

1. If your premise is that Tribals are vulnerable and need a paternalistic state to preserve their identity ---

2. You should also then say they are equally vulnerable to proselytization based loss of identity

#IOI doesnt do that.
To me this explains the tensions _ These territories (thousands of sq km) are seen as contestable. Free run of proselytizers with some rag-tag saffron sadhu challengers.
So encourage people to learn about the Tribal Land Laws - the 5th/6th sched, edu initiatives with and without #core in those areas (level playing field argument) , Samata judgment, PESA act, Tribal and Forest Rights Act.

#IOI is never scared of you unless you are educated./e
With this I've entered the war zone. Indian citizens arent supposed talk about these things in this "disrespectful tone" Will TT CPR engage with me on this? Or put a hit out ?
