I& #39;ve been working from home on/off (mostly on) for roughly twelve years. Before this, it was peep& #39;s "dream" to do so. Few believed me when I said it was actually harder, req& #39;d discipline, & if working for yourself - you have MANY bosses (clients), not just one. (1/?)
So many commercials advertised being shirtless by the pool. Many are realizing now, it& #39;s not that - it& #39;s close quarters, closed space, pets, kids, having to suddenly "share" your new "atmosphere" with another while THINKING it& #39;s still your house during work house (2/?)
...during work house hours, when it& #39;s not a culturally-designated space (i.e., "the office", "work", etc), but rather a place that is sometimes yours, sometimes not, but now requires responsibilities. And yes ... distractions are always there, bed is always there, (3/?)
cleaning is always there, and even video games, sex/masturbation, whatever is RIGHT there. So is the wine or the beer or the weed. It& #39;s a weird world. But I say all of this, having dealt with this for over a decade, encouragement: you are truly in your world right now (4/?)
and for MANY of us (not all, I recognize this comes from a place of certain privilege, and I& #39;m sorry that& #39;s even a thing), our world is what we make. Your personal routine is important right now. What makes you feel good, alert, productive, real, ready to face the day. (5/?)
I& #39;m not going to tell you to shower at 7am daily or dress up to sit at your laptop. If that helps you, do it. Don& #39;t, if not. But find what works for you. Discover yourself. We& #39;re at a place of being able to create our own routine / experience for the first time for many of (6/?)
us. Take a moment to breathe, discover what truly works for you, what routine / schedule works best for you to do the best for your self, your family, your job. Explore that endless mind of yours. When we& #39;re done with this, hold those lessons to your heart. That& #39;s the new era.
