The reason why I never take Kpop fans seriously when they complain about BTS' wealth is because the discussions are never productive. Like okay, you don't like that BTS are wealthy? What do you want them to do? If the answer is donate, they already do that. Regularly.+
Might I also add that they always donate privately and the only time we actually hear about their donations is if the organization decides to tell us, so there are probably a lot more donations they've done privately that we don't even know about. +
So if you REALLY think it's unethical for idols to acquire so much wealth, then solution number 2 would be to stop supporting them as fans. Stop buying their albums. Stop buying their merch. Stop going to their concerts. Even streaming their music puts money in their pocket.+
The only reason why they have so much wealth is because of us fans. Our support is literally their main source of income. Kpop fans wanna to come to us talkin bout "idols shouldn't have all that money?" Okay??? Then stop giving it to them!+
All these talks about how they shouldn't have all this money yet none about where the money actually comes from. You support your faves? Congratulations! You're a part of the very same problem you're addressing! đŸ€Ą+
At the end of the day, it's not up to Kpop fans to police how much wealth BTS has, especially when they give so much back to their community anyway, which is—you guessed it—not hoarding!+
And another thing: people are allowed to give back to their community while owning nice things as well. The two don't have to be mutually exclusive. Idk why people think that rich people have to give majority of their money away for their contributions to be valid?+
BTS earned their money fair and square in a 100% legal manner. If you really have issues with wealth hoarding, then take it up with rich people who are actually problematic, a popular example would be Jeff Bezos. +
Because the way I see it, some of y'all Kpop fans with your thinkpieces don't really have a proper solution to "stop wealth hoarding". Like, do y'all want the government to start putting a cap on incomes? What is it that you want to see changed? What is your endgame?+
I don't even know where this thread was supposed to go but I'm really sick of seeing this argument brought up, especially because I almost never see it being brought up in the context of other idols. It's selective outrage. Y'all don't care about the wealth, you just h/ate BTS.+
And even if I gave some of y'all the benefit of the doubt and believed that your argument WAS out of real concern, your concern doesn't mean anything if you don't have a proper solution.

In conclusion, keep your fake concern to yourself, and close your mouth.
