1/ I don’t often start my own tweets. I’m fairly new to Twitter and I don’t have that many followers. And up until now I didn’t think it mattered that much. But today I wish I could reach all of #Canada. #Northwood is an organization near and dear to my heart.

2/ I served as a member of the Board of Governors from 2008 and finished my final term in June. I remain incredibly proud to be part of such a strong and caring organization. Yet it is clear that #pandemics magnify cracks in the #healthcare system.

3/ I didn’t agree with @picardonhealth when he called for families to get their loved ones out of senior’s homes as fast as possible and I’m still not sure that I do. But he foretold the nasty reality that nursing homes cannot compete with #coronavirus once it enters the building

4/ It breaks my heart to see the carnage and loss of life that #COVID-19 has inflicted on #LTC. CEO @JanetSimm and the Senior Leadership Team have my deepest respect. As do the @NSDHW, @NSMOH and @Dalhousie #Geriatrics teams who have come in to assist at this precarious time.

5/ Sending the #poweroflove to residents, staff, and those who are on site assisting @Northwood_NS #NovaScotiaStrong
