Two Simple measurements can give you somewhat of an idea of bust size. First measurement- firm band size (comfortably snug will do) measure without a bra on. This is your BAND size (ex. 32,34,36,etc.) as bras are TWO sizes- a BAND size and a CUP size
Then take a leaning measurement of your bust line (BUST SIZE) (again, no bra). Then,subtract the BAND SIZE from the BUST SIZE.

If the BAND size is 34 and the BUST SIZE is 42, then the difference is 8
1=A
2=B
3=C
4=D
5=DD
6=E
7=F
8=FF
While this gives you a base line size (34FF), it is a starting point because shape needs to be determined. That's why it's important to find a GOOD fitter & not fumble around with online purchases because not all 34FFs are made the same. FTR, 34FF is an AVERAGE breast size.
The US industry further confuses the consumer by offering H's, which sound larger but converts to a UK FF. There's also more confusion when women are programmed to buy molded cup bras, which only work well for smaller bust lines that are shallow, b/c they offer no projection.
Consumers end up frustrated and hopeless, thinking that there is something wrong with their bodies when in reality big box offers them 13-18 sizes when there are over 400. Thats just not common knowledge and as long as the consumer is kept in the dark, they will continue to buy
Things that don't fit them without the responsibility of retailers offering products that solve their problems because they know buyers will continue to try to solve the problem.
