I have an update on my health I wanted to share. After many tests, and discussion about my symptoms and resulting blood clots, my doctor has finally decided I had COVID-19 in late January. She's sending me for an antibody test. 1/
The key symptom, pneumonia, that created the blood clots, along with the 5 weeks of no smell or taste, leads her to this diagnosis.

Blood clots are now one of the biggest factors that doctors are seeing with severely ill COVID-19 patients. These blood clots appear are insidious
They fill up the lungs and literally smother the patient. I read today in WAPO that all patients with severe symptoms should be put on blood thinner immediately. I'll be on Eliquis for 7 months before they will do another CT Scan to make sure my clots have gone or are diminished.
The virus has left me with very low gamma globulins, which are antibodies that fight off infections. So, I'm going to be at risk of catching other infections. I'm sure that many people have unknowingly had the virus since January too and many may have distressed immune systems.
