I was a tween. I had a game I wanted to play. It was a sequel to my favorite game. It was amazing.
And it wouldn't install. It would fail every time.
You know what I did?

I'd try installing it over and over again hoping it would go through. Like it was a mechanical contraption.
I did this every day for like weeks. Just willing it to go through.

At that time I understood how computers worked, but I did not understand how they didn't work. And that is more important.

To understand the flaws in a machine and your incomplete mastery of it.
Anyway this stupid progression through the five stages of denial with a CD that wouldn't install on my computer is a fundamental experience in my life I think about all the time.
