Excited for all the "I used the 'faster' way to learn math and I did just fine!" replies from citizens who are, on average, below fourth-grade competence in mathematics as adults.
If it hasn't changed, the average mathematics literacy in the United States is grade ~4.3 (so, 9-year-olds), and yet adults educated to this astonishing level of average attainment in math after 12 grades, often plus more in college, think the teaching method used on them worked.
