Any time you want to compare something to slavery, ask yourself some questions:

• Are you forced to work for it without pay?
• Can it kill you without consequence?
• Does it break up your family for sport?
• Does it rape you/your children?
• Does it pay itself reparations?
• Does it boil you in molasses for rebelling?
• Does it force you to live in restricted quarters with several other people and sleep on grass beds?
• Does it use your babies as alligator bait?
• Does it do medical experiments on you?
• Does it call you "nigger"?
• Can you play with its children without being beaten?
• Does it force you to get pregnant to restock its supply?
• Does it force you to breastfeed its babies after taking yours and giving them to someone else?
• Does it make you hate your father?
• Does it make you sleep with your own mother?
• Does it whip you until you bleed because its husband chose to use you as a personal sex slave?
• Does it invent pseudo-science to explain why you deserve all of these things?
• Does it rip entire passages about liberation, justice, and freedom out of the Bible so you don't see them?
• Does it prevent you from learning to read so you won't know that its own laws are in violation of the beliefs it claims to hold?
• Does it rent you out to others?
• Does it keep you as entertainment for visitors to the home?
• Does it make you hate yourself and others of your own kind, just because of differences in skin tone?
• Does it make you hate yourself and others of your kind if you achieve any form of success?
• Does it leave you with generational trauma?
• Does it leave you with generational economics and social setbacks that could take hundreds, if not over a thousand years, to overcome?
• Does it teach you and all others that you are inherently inferior to others?
• Does it leave you with nasty reputation throughout the entire world as "good for nothing but enslavement", yet "lazy"?
• Does it cause you to bleach your skin and wear false hair so you can blend in with it?
• Does it cause the phenomenon of "passing" to exist?
• Does it invent new and increasingly subtle ways to keep you in bondage and subservience, and when it can no longer use you, try to eliminate or exploit you, even in your ancestral homelands?
• Does it colonize every inch of land you own, destabilize your societies, and control your resources for itself?
These are just a few of the things that slavery/colonialism have done to our people. If you can safely say that whatever you're experiencing does at least 10 of these things, then sure, go ahead. Compare it to slavery.
