Some perspectives about the Hazara boy who joined theTaliban:
1Historical perspective:at the end of the90s fewHazara commanders tried to negotiate deals with theTaliban. Deals that asDr.Ibrahimi wrote"turned these ppl into collaborators in theTaliban's repression of their own ppl
Yet despite their cooperation "they failed to earn the trust of senior officials. This meant that the Taliban were seeking local collaborators to impose their authority over local communities without recognising them as equal participants of the state institutions"
These commanders though, were just allies. The only officially appointed Shi'a official of the Taliban was Sayed Gardizi, a Shi'a Sayed, appointed as the district governor of Yakaolang
2. Symbolical: until 2001 among the main areas of Hazara resistance against the Taliban were Balkhab and Darra-ye Suf. The first one is now the district to which this man has been appointed as governor, while the second one is currently under Taliban attack
3.Sociological: many words have been spent on how often the oppressed want to resemble their oppressors.Yet another issue worth mentioning is that, as this was the case of the commanders,
the few Hazaras who allied with the Taliban did it because socially or politically sidelined
Like many ppl who join Daesh also this boy before joining the Taliban was a convicted criminal.Yet if there is something to be sure is the fact that, far from being a useful tool of theTaliban propaganda, from now on this boy will be an outcasted of everyHazara society in the world
