21 years today!

Here’s the 1st of 21 little random facts about our lives together....

1. We met at work back in 1997...

2. It was love at first sight for me! I instantly stopped seeing this other guy I was ‘hanging out’ with, the absolute second I saw Leigh the first time.

3. Leigh was far too shy to ask me out, so after a few months, I lost patience and organised a 'night out' with workmates as a way to see each other outside of work.

4. Our first was that very night....12.12.97 and at risk of being risqué, we spent the night together and haven’t been apart since.

5. We kept our relationship quiet for a month, not knowing how it would impact us working together.

6. We moved in with each other after 7 weeks! This picture was taken the day we said “I love you”

7. I cancelled going on an international trip with a friend #contikitour because I knew that Leigh was 'the one'.

8. We were engaged (in Vanuatu) after 7 months of love together!

9. We eloped! Yep! Eloped. No parents, no family....just us and a few friends to witness. #noregrets

10. We spent less than $1,500 on our wedding, including the dress and honeymoon.

11. We honeymooned on the Gold Coast for 2 nights, before I then headed to a work conference in Cairns (solo).
Nothing's changed much in 21 years , I still work like a maniac, it's just how I roll.

12. Our lucky number! First kiss on 12.12 and it's forever been a fave since. #12

13. We both come from 'broken homes' with single mums raising us. It evoked a lot of communication early to align values in our marriage that hold strong today.

14. We have worked together on and off for the bulk of our time together. I was even Leigh’s ‘boss’ for more than 6 years.

15. While I was the boss at work, Leigh has always been the boss at home - forever nagging me to pick up my shoes & put away my clothes! (nobody believes he’s the whip cracker - but he totally is).

16. For the first 8 years of our marriage, we would spend the number of years married away to celebrate the milestone. 8 years, 8 nights!

17. We weren’t sure if we would have kids because we were so besotted with each other! But 8 years in, we decided we wanted grandkids one day, so the rest is history! Kids were a must!

18. Once we decided kids were a must, we ‘attempted’ the deed and fell pregnant the very first try! #fertile

19. Daughter 1 arrived safely and after a Caesarian birth, we were on strict instructions to not attempt for another child for 6 months. 6 months later, we fell preggers on the first attempt!
