Did the Polictial compass again and to no surprise I've become more progressive since joining University, my issues don't lie with that statment or at the fact I have progressive to some. I've always held progessive views but recently just been finding myself lost, (1/7)
Not just politcally but in manners of life apart from quite literally being "lost". As someone who didn't believe in the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn I've found myself trying to understand the current political discourse and that of previous terms especially (2/7)
That of New Labour. I'd be nice to have a polictal conversation of why New Labour was so terrible, because personally I don't believe so. I do keep on watching that brilliant Gordon Brown speech, so maybe that's why i've got this particular bias (3/7)
So I went from (-3.6, -3.1), which I thought was fairly centralist when I saw some of my peers' scores which were in the -7's, to -5, -4. According to PolitcalCompass, I'm more progressive than the Labour Party in 2019, which I definitely dont feel like. (4/7)
If you want to know I voted for Libral Democrats in the European Parliment Elections as a clear tactical vote in pushing labour to support remain statpoint through the decrease in a poll rating. And I voted for Labour at GE2019. (5/7)
Really this thread is hopefully to open up a disscussion, to why I may be wrong about "Corbynism" why I may be wrong "New Labour". I apologise in advance, that I may not completely know the nuances and the full history of the polictal landscape, so bare with me. (6/7)
Because I'm sad to see all the in fighting in and amongst the left wing. I feel like we'll tear each other apart before we act on the danger of the right. (7/7)
