Did the Polictial compass again and to no surprise I& #39;ve become more progressive since joining University, my issues don& #39;t lie with that statment or at the fact I have progressive to some. I& #39;ve always held progessive views but recently just been finding myself lost, (1/7)
Not just politcally but in manners of life apart from quite literally being "lost". As someone who didn& #39;t believe in the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn I& #39;ve found myself trying to understand the current political discourse and that of previous terms especially (2/7)
That of New Labour. I& #39;d be nice to have a polictal conversation of why New Labour was so terrible, because personally I don& #39;t believe so. I do keep on watching that brilliant Gordon Brown speech, so maybe that& #39;s why i& #39;ve got this particular bias (3/7)
So I went from (-3.6, -3.1), which I thought was fairly centralist when I saw some of my peers& #39; scores which were in the -7& #39;s, to -5, -4. According to PolitcalCompass, I& #39;m more progressive than the Labour Party in 2019, which I definitely dont feel like. (4/7)
If you want to know I voted for Libral Democrats in the European Parliment Elections as a clear tactical vote in pushing labour to support remain statpoint through the decrease in a poll rating. And I voted for Labour at GE2019. (5/7)
Really this thread is hopefully to open up a disscussion, to why I may be wrong about "Corbynism" why I may be wrong "New Labour". I apologise in advance, that I may not completely know the nuances and the full history of the polictal landscape, so bare with me. (6/7)
Because I& #39;m sad to see all the in fighting in and amongst the left wing. I feel like we& #39;ll tear each other apart before we act on the danger of the right. (7/7)
