it makes me so mad when professors assume everyone has great internet. I had a class today where I needed to present my idea for my final project. The prof got really angry when I kept cutting in and out, and got mad when he couldn& #39;t see the chats I sent explaining my idea. rural america is way behind communications infrastructure wise. for example, where I live there are no cable services, only expensive, unreliable satellite internet services. I have Viasat which charges me 150$ for 45 gb/month. Anything after that is throttled.
while i& #39;m very grateful that my school has instituted an optional pass fail policy, the transition to online has made it immensely hard to learn towards the end of the month, as every other word from lecture is unintelligible.
for other students who have gone back home to rural areas, how have you been given the transition to online learning?
