1. My mother has the strongest impact on me - she is brutally honest & loves a fight.

But she’s also a storyteller. My sis bought a journal to tell her story - It’s a heavy story

It made me think: who has the right to tell your story?
2. I remember I told an undergrad professor in my literature class about my mother’s story.

He told me that I should write her story.

It had everything- love, family, murder, and everything in between.
3. I attempted to write it.

at the end, it’s not my story. I dropped the pen.

As her daughter (& basically her mini-me), my parent’s story may not be my story to tell.

You can talk about how it impacted you.
4. Anyways I say this thread because we gave my mom a journal. But she doesn’t want to write in it.

We begged, “but mom! What will we pass on to the future?”

It dawned on me, I’ll just pass on the memory of us listening to the stories of my mom.
