A new episode in the ongoing conflict within the Coptic Church. This time it is involves Bishop Ishak of Tama
Bishop Ishak was ordained by Pope Tawdrous II first as General Bishop and then as Bishop of Tama following the death of Bishop Fam. As such, he is considered by the old guard as an ally of His Holiness.
During Easter celebrations, and due to Coronavirus, His Grace, prayed the Divine Liturgy in a House of Consecrated women. During the prayers he allowed the women to partake in the Easter Procession as can be seen in this video https://www.facebook.com/watch/?ref=search&v=710699176369081&external_log_id=10bc3e30f76329042974bedcb4189068&q=%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%86%D8%A8%D8%A7%20%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%82%20%D8%A7%D8%B3%D9%82%D9%81%20%D8%B7%D9%85%D8%A7
Naturally, all hell broke loose. Pages dedicated to attacking the Pope as a heretic who introduces innovations in Church tradition sprung with hundreds of posts attacking the Pope and the Bishop
The attacks forced the Bishop to issue a public apology for his actions. The episode like hundreds before it are just part of the war on the Pope that has been in place since 2013. Once again the attackers got what they wanted.
Unless the Pope starts taking action against them, his inaction only reinforces their narrative and shows him as weak. So far very few Bishops have been willing to stand against these lunatics: Sarabion, Pavnotios, Thomas, and Daniel
Of course there is nothing wrong with what Bishop Ishak did. How could anyone argue women are not allowed in the altar when the very altar of the Lord was MARY
