How is it anyone can claim to be Christian and ignore this: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35.

There is no asterisk. 1/3
The same book claims God created all that is, and loves creation. So if God loves all... the command is clear. Love ALL. There are no exceptions for other races, other genders, other sexual orientations, others with different abilities, or class, or wealth, or size... 2/3
In my experience those who are most loving are those who know what it is like to face the most hate. So those who ask who I see as living this command, I say, I see the marginalized, the poor, people of color, trans people, queer people, disabled people — the outcasts. 3/4
I have never been cast out by the outcasts. I have always felt welcome. I have always found safety and care. We don’t deserve them. They live the virtues we claim, and do it in spite of the hate aimed at them. So whatsoever you do to the least of these... you do to me. 4/4
