BTS using their wealth to support good causes — a heartwarming thread 💜
In 2015, BTS donated 7187 kilograms of rice for charity.
As of 2017, it was revealed each member of BTS had personally donated ₩10M to the Sewol Ferry Disaster 4/16 Family Council. That’s ₩70M total, not including the donation of ₩30M that BigHit made.
BTS partnered with UNICEF to created the BTS Love Myself campaign with the goal of ending violence against children+teens. As of Nov. 2018, the campaign had raised ₩1.6B ($1.4M). ₩500M came from BTS+BH directly. BTS also donated 3% of the sales from their ‘Love Yourself’...
...album series and 100% of the sales from the official goods of the Love Myself campaign.
BTS donated their tour microphones to be auctioned for the charity MusiCares. The microphones sold for $83,000 in early 2020.
Jin is a member of UNICEF Korea’s Honors Club. To join, you must donate at least ₩100M to the organization’s cause. He started secretly donating monthly in May 2018.
Also in 2018, to celebrate his birthday, Jin made a donation of 322 kilograms of pet food to the Korean Animal Welfare Association.
In 2018, to celebrate his birthday, Yoongi sent 10 kilograms of prime Korean beef and signed BTS albums to 39 orphanages.
In 2019, to celebrate his birthday, Yoongi donated ₩100M and 329 dolls to the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation stated, “Suga stated that he wished to make the donation to repay all of the love he has received from fans.”
Most recently, in 2020, Yoongi donated ₩100M to the organization Hope Bridge to help with COVID-19 relief in his hometown, Daegu.
In 2018, Hoseok donated ₩150M to ChildFund Korea. Again in 2019, Hoseok donated ₩100M to the Gwangju branch of ChildFund Korea to use as assistance for students at Kukje High School, his alma mater.
Later in 2019, Hoseok donated ₩100M again through ChildFund Korea’s Gwangju Headquarters. The money is being used to support Jeonnam Girls’ Commercial High School with scholarships for five years. In total, he’s donated ₩350M (that we know of) to ChildFund Korea.
In 2019, to celebrate his birthday, Namjoon donated ₩100M to the Seoul Samsung School, also known as the Samsung Deaf School, which specializes in education for hearing-impaired students. “[RM] made the donation, expressing his will to help students with hearing difficulties...

From 2016 to 2018, Jimin paid for school uniforms for graduating students at his childhood school, Hoedong Elementary School.
In 2017, both Jimin and Taehyung donated shirts to be auctioned in the WeAja Charity Auction.
In 2019, Jimin donated ₩100M to the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education to be used towards education development. The donation was distributed to each school.
This is everything I could find online. The majority of BTS’s donations are initially made in secret and then revealed by another person/source months or years later, so there are probably many more donations that we have no idea about.
In conclusion, BTS is made up of seven generous, humble men who deserve every bit of their wealth. And ARMY is so proud of them. 💜
