The @bartongrp @uodlifesciences does three kinds of things as explained here: http://www.compbio.dundee.ac.uk/about.html  : 1. Technique Development, 2. General Analysis and 3. Specific Applications. Technique development is the glue that holds it all together 1/9
Our best-known techniques are @jalview which is a data visualisation and analysis tool centred on multiple alignments and the JPred http://www.compbio.dundee.ac.uk/jpred/index.html protein structure predictor. 2/9
The @jalview team @bartongrp led by Jim Procter @foreveremain has today made a new release which includes exciting new “Virtual Features” for sophisticated analysis of DNA variants on protein sequence and structure... https://bit.ly/2KrosYO  3/9
Jalview usage has nearly doubled in March this year compared 2019. We are keen to keep Jalview relevant to new research areas and particularly for #covid19, Please let us know how it is working for you or if there are features you would like to see. 5/9
Our other resources https://www.compbio.dundee.ac.uk/drsasp.html  are managed by Stuart MacGowan @stuartmac44 and supported by @BBSRC Again, we aim to keep these up and running and develop them as needed over the coming months. 6/9
We have some new covid-19 analysis that builds on our sequence, genetics and structure analysis experience in progress and will submit this shortly. As well as in depth analyses of protein repeats by @anonymaxking and Javier Sanchez 7/9
We also continue to collaborate with @ggsimpsonrna via Matt Parker @1m1a2t on all things Direct RNA Sequencing on @nanopore and will soon have some new things to say there very soon... 8/9
In summary, work continues in @bartongrp, albeit with new challenges. We thank @BBSRC and @wellcometrust for their continued support and @uodlifesciences Admin and management teams as well as @uod_it for helping to make work possible at this time 9/9.
