I knew that advice was going to piss some people off, but your 2 year old can in fact go without nursing 8 times a day so that you can feel comfortable in your own skin. If you feel a way that I suggested Mom was in fact a person then well..tell Jesus. He might care. I don't https://twitter.com/CAwkward/status/1253057504046653442
I breastfed both of my kids for around a year. I am here to tell you that "early" weaning has resulted in them being 6ft tall, skinny & eating everything that can't outrun them. They are 20 & 14 now, and I am 99.9% certain not breastfeeding for 24 months is not a concern for them
I don't know about today's toddler mafia, but in my day 2 year old's were tiny terrorists that you fed, watered & tried to keep from doing a murder. Everything else was secondary to those goals. Oh & keeping them alive because 2 is...a disconcerting stage of poor risk assessment
My eldest at 2? Escape artist who once managed to develop a pet opossum that he fed cereal through a hole in the screen. My youngest at 2? Well that was when we learned that he had a wonderful knack for escape, climbing & breaking things. Oh & hiding precious items in juice.
2 year old's have no mercy, minimal compassion, and the ethics of serial killer. They will smile adorably while they drive you over the edge. So, I firmly advocate that people do whatever they need to do in order to survive that stage. Or your toddler might eat you.
If your day with a toddler ends with them still alive, fed, nominally clean, and not letting a tiger into your bedroom? You did amazing. If you are also clean, fed, and not running from something? You win parent of the year.
