there are 7 people in a circle, but for the middle of that circle and each subsequent one after that, they would need to add 8 new people. the equation for that is 7+8^n, where n=the (cont)

number of times the circle is completed, the 7 are the ones who don't have to pay, and the 8 are the newbies. if you started on the outside, it would take 4 iterations for you to get paid. put that in the equation and it's 7+8^4, which equates to 4103. what does that mean? (cont)

it means that you and your fellow buddies would need 4,103 DIFFERENT people to get involved just so that you can get your $800.

wanna know how many iterations it takes to involve more than 3 times the ENTIRE american population? only 10!
