Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, and the entire rest of the defeated 2016 GOP primary field would probably beg to differ https://twitter.com/ConnerTorpey/status/1253027583119237127
It doesn't take a brain genius to see that the mainstream media is Very Online and very much influenced by Twitter hot take battles.

Those hot take battles can shift the media discourse and public opinion with it.

Donald Trump certainly understands that on an intuitive level.
The dirtbag left brigaders were just the tiniest sliver of Bernie's base, but their aggressive brigading and virulent misogyny gave centrists like Neera Tanden the opportunity to create a "Bernie bros" narrative that deeply hurt Bernie with voters, particularly women.
And hey, Bernie never went on Joe Rogan's show or said he liked the guy.

But that endorsement celebration tweet did undeniable and deep damage to him with women and queer voters.
As someone who actually did work both on and off-line trying to bring new supporters to Bernie (as opposed to sitting around with people who already agreed with me and crowing about how much smarter we were than everyone else), I can attest that these were big sticking points.
Not just with like, centrists who never would have voted for him, ever.

With progressive women who'd voted for him in 2016.
The Chapo crowd can whine and blame Elizabeth Warren all they want, but she didn't tank Bernie.

She was just where women who'd lost their faith in him started to drift as the dirtbag discourse got more toxically misogynist and his campaign failed to distance itself from that.
(That's my point, dipshit.

Some women got disillusioned with Bernie and lost enthusiasm, some of them ended up in Warren's base, and snake emoji Twitter cited that drift as a reason to disingenuously blame her for Bernie losing to Biden. She didn't steal Bernie's base.)
And shit, wait, he did go on Rogan's show?

Wooooooooow did Jeff Weaver fuck up this campaign.

I thought it was just the endorsement acceptance tweet.

That's even worse.
