PSA for those w/loved 1 in #nursinghome w/COVID who may have COVID. A thread and pls RT:
1. If goals r comfort NH can admin oxygen, comfort meds, all the same things a Pall care unit/team would do in the hospital.
2.Staff at NH knows your loved one/r like fam. They r like fam 1/

3. If ur loved 1 has dementia or other advanced med conditions, outcome will be same at NH or in hospital. If they make it they'll make it, if not it was their time.
4. Why move them to place where they don't know anyone/confused when they could stay and receive same care 2/

5. If they r in the NH receiving palliative/comfort measures, know that u physically being present to say goodbye is more for u at this point.
6. A video/phone to ear hearing ur voice can be just as soothing for them.
7. Do not feel guilty abt not physically being there. It is ok
