I honestly find it creepy when people like this pop up with eloquent, well-written defenses of antis that seem sensible & likely to win over "normal" people who don't know the context.

They are framing years of vicious harassment, paranoid moral-panic campaigns over fiction that obscure actual instances of abuse, & the vigorous promotion of deeply reactionary and harmful ideas about psychology and sexuality as "constructive criticism," & they must realize it.

This isn't a discussion ABOUT good-faith criticism & the complexities of how to write & present your own truths compassionately. It's a discussion about mobbing & harassment over everything from problematic fiction that could have used more nuanced discussion to random fanfic.

And in the end it's a discussion about how broad censorship based on moral disgust is inevitably weaponized against everyone on the margins.

Stop claiming it's about "criticism." This was never about criticism.
