- literally it’s told in spoken word it’s fckin great
- main character is my namesake. not important but it’s very cool
“mysterious skin” by scott heim

- genre is, um...sadness? tragic? psychologically bruising but beautifully written?
- gregg araki did what he had to when he adapted it to film
“we are the ants” by shaun david hutchinson

- gay coming-of-age science fiction romance
- so beautifully written i literally die

“human acts” by han kang

- historical fiction
- kang is one of my favorites, i’ve read it all & i recommend it all but this one holds a special place
- her technique...lord
“white teeth” by zadie smith

- humor, “hysterical realism”
- it’s been established many times that i love this novel so i won’t go on about it but 💖💖💖💖💖
“a tale for the time being” by ruth ozeki

- magical realism
- absolutely would read numerous times in one month (& i have)
- prose is finger lickin good
