Maybe it’s hard to understand, but I’ve always said the BTS-Army relationship really is unique & unheard of in fan-artist capacities. But they love us. That is something I’ve never doubted, & tbh it truly painfully hit me while listening to WAB: Eternal & Moon. And this is why:

We all know Map of the Soul: Persona was an ode to Army, in many ways, but I really expected MOTS: 7 to be ALL about them. About BTS & their journey & struggle & who they are. Which, yes, it was, but the way they embedded Army into that framework, rly got to me.

We are less fans & more of an entire support system. We are not just a bunch of strangers who listen to their music, we’re ppl who have truly given them strength & confidence & endurance. They’ve seen their journey thru this w/ us as being by their side, not being followers.

In many ways, we’ve also given them purpose, motivation. In WAB: Eternal they express how grateful they are for us, & how we have been each other’s shield. bc they see us as a part of them. We are ALL BTS in a way, we’ve all suffered & endured. We’re a part of their story

In Moon, Seokjin in turn admires Army. Equates his love to the bond between the Earth & the Moon, where the distance is not a factor in how strong the relationship is; rather, there will always be gravity pulling us together despite that inevitable distance.

It’s not a weird y/n sort of love & it’s offensive to reduce it to that. It’s not something you see normally, so it may not seem genuine. But if you see the way they look at army, talk about army, stick up for army, interact, make an effort to stay connected, it’s crystal clear.

I also believe that this connection has played a major part in BTS’ success. They work so hard to produce amazing music to tell us their stories & spread messages to heal us & change our lives for the better. We in turn want to support them & make sure they are rewarded.

tl;dr — bts luv army & army luv bts, it’s a unique connection. difficult to understand, but genuine. Listen to 2!3!, Magic Shop, WAB: Eternal, & Moon if you’re ever in doubt. Look at JK’s tattoos. Watch their ments. Weverse. The end.

OK LAST THING ACTUALLY. I’m not cynical & I’m also not delusional. You can spin this many ways to say they talk like this/that for marketing. But seeing as how their love has never wavered even w/ fame. & only gotten more pronounced, I don’t think that’s the case.

Sigh. One more.
There’s lots of diff ways & reasons to love someone. Not everything has to be reduced to one thing. Yeah we’re all strangers at the end of the day but if we strangers still /feel/ that connection thru words & actions, there’s no reason to deny it. That’s all.
