I think the SBC has had enough of trolls, provocateurs, and discernment bloggers to last a lifetime. Watching them cycle through targets and assault the character and beliefs of faithful men and women is not more than disgraceful; it's wicked.
Today it is @albertmohler and @SBTS, before that is was @DannyAkin and @SEBTS. Sometimes it's the @ERLC, other times it's @LifeWay. You will never be pure enough, never righteous enough, never faithful enough to satisfy people who revel in strife and controversy.
The SBC is a flawed denomination led by men and women who are committed to Jesus AND not immune from temptation. By all means let's pray for them, encourage them, believe in them, hope the best for them. But let us never make it our aim to tear them down, nor to OWN or DESTROY.
These men and women are our brothers and sisters in the family of God. All of us (who are in Christ) will share together the marriage supper of the Lamb. I cannot stomach the kinds of infighting and foolishness we have witnessed over these past several years.
The body of Christ is not stronger for it. Our testimony to the world is undermined by it.

I'm grateful to God for @albertmohler, @DannyAkin, @drmoore, @KSPrior, Curtis Woods, @w_strickland, and the many other faithful men and women who have been subjected to such ridicule.
May God forgive us for bearing false witness. And may the people of God be recognized as Jesus said it would, because it is marked by love.

Grace and peace.
