What if I told you that "evil campaign" isn't some kind of safe umbrella you can use to justify doing shitty things to people and/or exposing them to trauma without their consent?

Consider what it says about you if you spend energy justifying allowing this at your table. /1
"But muh dark stories and themes"... don't mean a damn thing in the face of people's lived experiences. Y'all are literally creating items that rob multiple people of agency and consent, then going "tee hee, it would be funny if I did that and then blamed it on an item." /2
CW://Sexual Assault

As if this isn't already happening in real time. As if NOT EVEN A MONTH AGO we had a major issue in the #ttrpg community with people being exposed to sexual in a very public setting without their consent by a well-known figure. /3
Would anyone care to explain the reason that we have to have the "sexual assault is bad" "agency + consent is essential" conversation with people who have spent multiple years playing tabletop games.

Again, the people having these convos aren't new. Y'all know better. /4
Y'all are about to learn that a lot of people are done having their trauma and general existence being a punchline or a plot device so that you can make your stories edgy.

Learn how to write better stories. Do better. Read more books. Do something else. /5
Or at the very least, go fade into obscurity and leave the rest of us alone who are somehow able to create these rich af stories and worlds in mere moments.

Also, find the LGBTQ+, PoC, and black folk who are educating you and fucking pay them.

Dismissed. /😡
