During shutdown I decided I wanted to play through all of the Mass Effect games again. I love these games so much so I figured it would help with going through all of this craziness. I realize I should have streamed it from the beginning or something but it has been a crazy
Trip down memory lane playing them. ME1 is such a different game than I remember. I probably have played 1 the least, this was maybe my 3rd play-through and probably my 5-6th through 2 and probably the same through 3. 1 has so many weird flaws that looking back it
Is crazy seeing it in comparison to a powerhouse in 2. ME1 is weirdly repetitive, has such the wonky grenade mechanic, and just doesn’t feel as real as the others. Of course looking back on it a decade plus in the future isn’t fair. I remember being blown away by it the first
Time. Also for the maybe one person who is even reading this thread who do people save in ME1? I felt like back then I always wanted to save Ashley, but in the heat of the moment it makes so much more sense to save Kaidan and it seems so much better. I love Ashley as a
Character and she has a great story but Kaidan makes more sense in game story terms. Also how weird of a story is it if you go to Virmire first? You lose a squad member off the bat and fight Saren? Like what a weird story to have you be able to choose a major story point right
Off the bat. ME2 has so much more going on and it may be one of my favorite games ever. Having a more varied squad is fun and there are so many more far reaching and heavy choices. It’s just weird how much of the powers and gameplay mechanics they completely altered going into
ME2. Its crazy how much time I spent on these back in the day and how much I’m devoting to it now. And that I assumed anyone would read this crazy long thread about a decades old video game series.
