I want to tweet about my experiences as a latinx person living in a predominantly white area but I know some gringos would reply with “omgggvg that’s horrible I’m so sorry honey u don’t deserve that!!!! ” and I’m not here looking for sympathy I’m here to teach lessons

I don’t care if you’re white and you want to let me know you’d never do that. Part of being white and supporting minorities is stepping back and letting stories be told without feeling the need to prove you’re a “good white person”

When poc, ethnic people, or any minority shares their experience, instead of pitying them use your advantage as a privileged person and do what you can to help when you see a similar thing happening around you. Taking action shows more support than “aw I’m so sorry ”
