She estimates statewide turnout of 65% in November, with 40% of those being mail. For a county like Wake with likely 800,000 voters, that’s an estimate of 520,000 votes cast with 208,000 by mail (compare with 24,000 mail ballots in 2016 when we had 75% turnout). /2 #ncpol

Making it easier to APPLY for ballots is in the recommendations, plus paying postage for the voter’s ballot return. If voter preferences due to pandemic trend to voluntary vote by mail, counties will have lots of supplies to order over next 90 days to get prepared. /3 #ncpol
